How quickly can you get to me in Southborough?

Accepted Answer

Where possible we aim to be on the doorstep inside 30 minutes for jobs in the TN4 postcodes. Outlying villages like Tunbridge Wells, Tonbridge, Bidborough, Pembury are usually 30-45 minutes depending on traffic and how busy we are. We'll always give you a realistic ETA on the call, not a hopeful one.

Will you damage my door to get me back in?

Accepted Answer

Most of the time, no. The majority of lockouts we attend are opened non-destructively, by picking or bypassing the lock. Drilling is sometimes the only option, not because we want it to be, but because certain anti-pick cylinders, badly worn locks or already-damaged hardware leave no other route in. If we do need to drill, we tell you before we start, and we replace what we drilled.

Are you open at night and on weekends?

Accepted Answer

We cover late evenings and early mornings most days of the week, including Saturdays. We're closed on Sundays. Anti-social hours work does carry a surcharge, we'll be straight with you about that on the call before you commit.

Question 4

Can you give me a fixed all-in price on the phone?

Accepted Answer

Not honestly, no. Until our engineer is at the door we can't know exactly what the lock is, how it's failed, or what parts will go in. What we can do on the phone is give you our labour rates, an estimate on parts based on what you describe, and the VAT, so you know roughly what you're walking into.

Question 5

Do you provide insurance reports?

Accepted Answer

We don't do in-depth insurance invoicing or detailed claim reports. What we can give you is a clear receipt and breakdown of pricing, parts needed and what the situation was onsite. Most UK insurers accept that, but if your insurer needs a formal forensic report you may need a specialist.

Question 6

What if I'm not sure my door actually needs a new lock?

Accepted Answer

We'll tell you. A lot of stiff doors don't need a new lock at all, they need a hinge adjustment or a keep realignment. If the cylinder or gearbox is genuinely on its way out, we'll show you why before we replace it.
