Publishing Principles

Last updated: July 2026.

Locks Local publishes advice, guides and blog posts about locks, doors and home security alongside the locksmith work we do across Southborough and the surrounding TN postcodes. These principles set out how that content is written and checked, so you know you can rely on it.

1. Written by people who do the work

Our guides are written and reviewed by working locksmiths, not an anonymous content team. When we explain how a lock fails or what a repair involves, it comes from jobs we have actually attended. If a topic sits outside our trade, we say so and point you to the proper authority.

2. Accuracy first

We aim to get the facts right and to keep them current. Standards, product names and typical prices change, so we review our content and update it when things move on. Where we quote a figure, it is a realistic guide based on the work we do, not a fixed quote for your job.

3. Independence and honesty

Our recommendations are based on what we would fit in our own homes. We are not paid to recommend a particular brand. If a page ever contains a sponsored mention or an affiliate link, we will label it clearly so you can weigh it for what it is.

4. Useful, plain English

We write to help you make a good decision, whether that is calling us or sorting something yourself. That means plain language, no scare tactics, and honest guidance about when a job is worth a professional and when it is not.

5. Corrections

If we get something wrong we want to fix it. You can read how we handle that in our Corrections Policy, and you can flag an error any time through our contact form.
